Shea Butter: Skincare's Prodigal Son

We have all heard the saying ‘you are what you eat’. Here at Vitaglow we say that you are what you wear! Your skin is the biggest organ of the human body and much of what we put on our skin in terms of personal care products is absorbed into the bloodstream.

Solution? Which skincare ingredient is so safe and kind to your body that you can literally eat it? I spent a while looking for the answer to this question and the solution I found is truly magical. Shea Butter.

Shea butter is extracted from the Shea tree, native to Africa. It’s a game-changer for skin and hair dated back to the 1st Century.  But there is more to Shea butter; it’s exceptionally versatile! I’ve discovered that Shea butter is a perfect alternative fat for cooking and baking. If you like you can spread it on toast or add a dollop to your smoothie for a rich creamy taste.

Not convinced? Both the FDA and European Food Safety Authority (EFSA) recognise Shea Butter as a food product. In fact Shea Butter is rich in Vitamins E, A ,F, and K as well as several healthy fatty acids. Great for your Body. Great for your Skin.
